I have really liked the food but the three times we have been there the service was horrible. Last time we even told the waitress we were trying to make it to a movie. It was noon!!!! An hour later we got our food, she briefly apologized and said there was a large table in front of us, which there was; one of 3 tables and NO we didn't make it to the movie which we told the waitress and she shrugged....would like to go back but will not do to poor management

Thank you yelp, for guiding me here. Strip mall ambiance with outstanding food. Had the shrimp and grits. Amazing. Wife had the grilled scallops. Perfectly cooked and seasoned...and two skewers. Easily 10 nice sized scallops, and comes with two sides. $17. Easily pay 2x in Jersey. Also had the crab corn chowder and the gumbo. Both delicious. Go and enjoy some fresh local fare. Friendly attentive staff is a plus.

We've been to SP's twice more since last review, each time taking friends who are trying for first time, all have declared it great. A few reviewers have had less than favorable comments (anybody or any restaurant can have a and day occasionally) but I'd still rate this, for the price, as good as anything around. Don't forget to try margaritas!

Dinner was very good. My wife ordered a key lime martini and it was creamy and sweet just like the pie. Off to a good start. I had a cup of the crab corn chowder. It tasted good but it had very large peices of potatoes and couldn't find the crab. My wife ordered the bourbon peach grilled shrimp and the shrimp were decent size and it tasted wonderful. I had 1/2 pound hot old bay shrimp. The shrimp were very good and I also liked their coctail sauce. They were much smaller than the shrimp my wife had so they must use larger shrimp for grilling and the smaller shrimp for the peal and eat. Server was friendly however my wife asked for water at the same time we initially ordered our drinks and the waiter forgot. Our waiter was not very attentive to us and finally at the end of our meal I asked another waitress passing by for my wife's water. All she had to drink during her meal was the key lime martini. Our waiter finally showed up to ask if we wanted any dessert. We usually leave a 20% tip on the entire bill with tax included. Only left 15%. If you are a waiter or waitress take note waitering 101. SERVICE YOUR CUSTOMER!

Get the shrimp and grits.. It amazing!! It has sausage and a good amount of shrimp.. And the pink sauce is amazing... The other highlight is their sweet potato fries.. Love em... The crab and corn chowder was okay.. Would have been better with a little more crabmeat..

The shrimp cocktail was awesome, large firm shrimp and cocktail sauce with a little kick. Oyster poboy was huge and tasty with lots of oysters, I split it with my husband. Mashed potatoes were super good, garlicky and buttery. I'm not a huge squash person but that was the veggie of the day and i ate almost all of them. I would have finished them off if i wasn't so full. I really like that they only serve local seafood. The wait staff was very accommodating and friendly even though we showed up a half hour before closing.

We found this place by accident! What a gem! The service was great, we started with the crab and corn chowder with bacon, delicious. Even the side salads were amazing with tons of vegetables and spring mix lettuce. We had a fried seafood platter, amazing everything is hand-breadedhomemade tartar sauce and coleslaw! You have to try!

This is a really great locally owned joint. The seafood is fresh and reasonable prices. I ordered a bowl of crab and corn chowder and there was no soupy watery filling. It was thick, and full of actual crab, corn, and bacon. Fresh breaded shrimp, thick piece of mahi, lots of shrimp on my shrimp and grits. This place is awsome!! If your family is in town you should bring them here so they can taste what fresh seafood is supposed to taste like.

Not impressed... food OK ... better seafood else where in town... service is slow and not good at all ... I was upset by the fact that there where two tables of customers in the whole place at 1:00pm and I had asked for a refill and cocktail sauce , my waitress left the table started cleaning another table then sat down started counting her tips at the table ... i waited 15 minutes for refill and sauce i was done with my meal by the time she returned after reminding her i needed a refill... they were not busy and one server sitting at another table playing on her phone ... they could at least clean while they aren't busy its not clean at all... the salt shakers and stuff at the table probably haven't been clean since it was pinchers restaurant

Shrimp and grits are awful! I may be spoiled by eating in the real low country, but the dish they're serving and calling shrimp and grits bears no resemblance to anything I've ever eaten in, say, Savannah or Beaufort.

Tonight's dinner was hopefully not representative--we are still trying to find a solid local seafood place in Fort Myers. We had dinner with my mom, Tom and Kerrey. The shrimp cocktail shrimp are very good but the sauce is bland without extra horseradish and hot sauce. The oysters were good and as noted by others a bit gritty--shucking practice will hopefully improve. The fried green tomatoes could have been great if the "lightly breaded" description on the menu was understood by the cook. The crab cakes were the usual over processed goo. I ordered a main of a dozen clams (hold the butter) over the past with olive oil and garlic. Six clams arrived small, dry, over cooked and over buttered over pasta with no sign of olive oil. With some corrections it got better, a least a bit. Mom's grilled shrimp salad looked very good and the shrimp are clearly their specialty. Prices were on the high side for the quality of the food and the level of creativity. Next time I will try the shrimp and grits, but i doubt there will be a next time--the Pincher's Crab Shack on the way to Fort Myers beach will continue to be the better choice on the way to grandma's house. Server was not up to the task. Ice tea was watery and lemon missing.

Service was the best part. Food was okay, price for what you get was high. My fellow diner had crab cakes , meh, I had the daily special which was snapper with Parmesan and crabmeat topping. It was tasty. Sides were okay.

I really have enjoyed this place. I've gotten the same thing every time because I know I won't be disappointed. I usually get a beer to go along with my grouper sandwich. They aren't skimpy on the fish either. You get your moneys worth. It comes with some sides. Sweet potato fries are great here. Servers are pretty good and attentive. It's a good location because you don't have to cross the bridge and go to the beach. Can't wait to go back

After reading the reviews I was very excited about trying Salty Papa's and I really wanted it to be the place I was looking for. I started with a cesaer salad. It was ok. It had a few brown leaves in it. For dinner I got the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were a little smaller than I had expected but nonetheless tasty. The andouille sauge had a great flavor and saved the entire dish for me. The grits, and I'm a big fan of grits, were flavourless. If you scooped up some grits that didn't have the sauce from the rest of the dinner on them they had no taste, incuding no cheese taste and it says they are cheese grits in the description. Everyone was nice and service was pretty quick. I'll give it a try if I'm back that way, but won't be making a special trip to return.

Really good food at reasonable price. Great family place. They were a little understaffed but Dylan did a good job of keeping up. Our fries were on the cold side so he brought out tons of really hot ones! They were incredible! Everything is made on premises and our family of 5 loved the food!

Just enjoyed a fabulous dinner with my mother. Missed happy hour by a few minutes but the food made up for it. Went off menu, had the blackened grouper and Cajun cream sauce over pasta. Simply fantastic! Forget the earlier negative reviews about the staff. Zack took great care of us! Would highly recommend this little gem to everyone. I will be back.
